Blogspot blogs redirect to new URL and loses alexa rank

Blogger is a very good platform to create free blog and write online. Blogspot blogs URL always looks like this www.techshortly.blogspot.com but now blogger automatically redirect to new URL it is contain your country code. Google has not released any statement about the changes till now.

For Example

For this changes all blogspot blogs losses it's alexa rank and shows #10,897,213. So all the blogspot bloggers very disappointed of this changes. But if you use custom domain for your blogs you won't worry about this because there is nothing changes to your blog URL.

So friends it is time to change your blogspot blogs to custom domain.

  2. I too noticed the same issue with my blog. Some questions for you regarding my problems are as follows:

    1. Will this affect my blog in terms of search engine indexing process?
    2. Do I need to submit mu sitemap again with the new url?
    3. What about my old posts, Will users be able to see my already indexed post in the search engine again or that too also be affected?

  10. Well guys I have very good news, you can use these rediects for your advantage.
I pump my stats with a very nice program which gives me direct hits from around the world, so I am pretty sure the system works like this.
Every time your blog is visited from the location that produces change of domain (India, Australia, Georgia, Germany, France, etc.) blogspot clones the page content to the nearby mirror servers and gives it the proper geographic extension. All you need to do is add the backlink within your com domain. The backlink to your blogger.com.

It ens up with nice free backlinks from sites around the world, recognized by Alexa. I have 35 so far and counting.
But thats not all, I also noticed that you can easily log into those different blogs and make additions which in turn are not cloned to com domain. That gives the chance to interlink those domains between each other and create the circle which directs the PR juice to your precious .com

But there is one more thing if you create a new project and add a backlink from your com domain this produces large number of backlinks within short time. My company website got 38 Alexa backlinks within 24 hours. :)

Have fun, and write if you ave questions.

    Peter
