IRCTC servers upgraded to manage 4.15 lakh tickets daily and 2,000 per minute

IRCTC is the leading e-commerce site in India, lets you book train and flight tickets in online. It gets almost 12 million unique visitors per month and one out of five internet peoples in India visits These are the positive side of the IRCTC and also there is huge negative sides, every passenger facing site crashing and slow performance problems while booking tickets especially during in tatkal tickets booking between 10.00AM and 12.00PM.

Here the good news for all IRCTC users, the site has been upgraded with high capacity servers to handle 4.15 lakh tickets daily. Now the ticketing site is able to handle about 1.2 lakh concurrent connections on web servers and can book about 2000 tickets per minute and it will be further increased to 7200 tickets per minute. Earlier it supports 1200 tickets per minute.

According to PTI, Railways have earmarked about Rs. 100 crore to upgrade the ticketing website to meet the growing demand of e-tickets.
