Sony rolls out Andorid 4.0 ICS Update for Xperia S Devices

This is exciting news for Xperia S users, Sony announced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software  upgrade and new unique media applications for Xperia S handsets. Sony introduce a three media apps to get cool experience form your media files like music, images, videos, movies and films. The three new apps are “WALKMAN”, “Album” and “Movies”.

Sony released multiple ICS software for each Xperia phone, so before downloading one of the files, owners should make sure they have the correct SI. The SI is identified by an 8-digit number in the format XXXX-XXXX. To find out what SI number your phone has, please take off the back-cover and check on your label

All Xperia S users will get a notification when the upgrade is ready, but direct availability in the phone may vary across different carriers. It’s also worth noting that the software package required for download is around 200MB, so you might want to consider using WiFi, if directly upgrading from your Xperia S. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks.
